What happens when you type an address /
You type an address and a page appears. Between those two moments a name is looked up, a connection is opened and encrypted, a request is sent, a response comes back, and a browser draws it. This course is that journey, one step at a time.

2
Client and server /
Two roles that explain most of the web: one side asks, the other answers. Which is which decides where your code runs, what a visitor can change, and what you must never trust.
-
3
The URL and its parts /
An address is not one thing. It is six, and each is read by a different part of the journey — one by the browser, one by DNS, one by the server, and one that never leaves your machine at all.

DNS: names to numbers / DNS:
The network cannot route to a name. Before any connection is opened, something has to turn
gt4it.cominto a number — and that lookup is its own small journey, with its own caches and its own failures.
5
IP addresses and ports / عناوين IP والمنافذ
The number DNS hands back, what it does and does not tell you about where a server is, and the port — the door number that decides which program on that machine answers.
-
6
Domains, registrars and DNS records / النطاقات والمسجّلون وسجلات DNS
Who actually owns a name, what you are paying for when you buy one, and the handful of record types that decide where a domain's web, mail and subdomains point.

The HTTP request / طلب HTTP
The connection is open and neither side has said anything yet. What the client sends first is not a mystery format — it is a few lines of plain text you could type by hand.
-
8
The response and its status code /
The server answers in the same plain-text shape, and the very first line is a three-digit verdict. Learning to read that number is the single fastest debugging skill on the web.
-
9
Headers: the small print on both sides /
Between the first line and the body sits a list of name-and-value pairs that decides the language you get, whether the file is cached, whether it downloads instead of opening, and more.
-
10
GET and POST / GET وPOST
Two methods cover almost everything you will build. The choice between them decides where the data travels, whether the address can be shared, and whether a refresh is safe.
-
11
Cookies and sessions / ملفات cookie والجلسات
HTTP forgets you between every request. Everything that feels like being remembered — staying logged in, a basket that survives a page change — is built on one small header sent back each time.

HTTPS: what the padlock means / HTTPS:
The
sis one letter and a whole extra conversation. It buys you three specific guarantees — and it is worth knowing exactly which three, because people expect a fourth it never gave.
13
Certificates and who vouches for whom /
Encryption is useless if you encrypted it to the wrong machine. A certificate is how a server proves its name — and the proof rests on a chain of trust that ends inside your own device.
-
14
Same origin, and the attacks it stops /
Your browser holds tabs from a dozen sites at once, some of them logged in. One rule keeps them apart — and the three classic attacks on the web are all attempts to get around it.
5 From response to page
-
15
How a page is built /
The response arrived and it is a wall of text. What the browser does between that text and the picture on your screen explains most of what makes a site feel fast or slow.
-
16
Caching: the request that never happens /
The fastest request is the one nobody makes. Browsers keep copies of what they fetched, and two headers decide how long — which is also why a change you deployed is invisible to you.
-
17
Reading the Network panel /
Everything in this course so far is visible in one panel of your browser, on any site, right now. This lesson is about reading it — the work happens in the browser, not in an editor.
6 Where sites live

18
Hosting: where a site actually lives /
Behind every domain is a machine somewhere with your files on it, running a program that answers requests. What you are choosing when you choose a host is how much of that machine is yours.
-
19
CDNs: copies closer to the reader /
Distance costs time, and no amount of tuning beats the speed of light. The answer the whole industry uses is not a faster server — it is a nearer one.

APIs and JSON / واجهات البرمجة وJSON
Everything so far assumed a person was reading the response. Change that one assumption and the same request, the same methods and the same status codes become the way programs talk to each other.
